How to free yourself from stress and not die trying!

Get Things Done, also called GTD, according to Wikipedia, is a method of Time-Management created to help people that need to free their mind of things they have pending. The intention of GTD is to avoid stress and any waste of unnecessary time. It’s not necessary to remember "what needs to be done", you will be able to concentrate on performing tasks of several projects at the same time.

Has it not occurred to you that while you are writing this report you also have to remember to call a client, send an email and more endless thoughts that keep you from your task.

More and more things to do… Every day you try to retain things in your brain, but in the end, it could cause you a lot of stress because sometimes it’s impossible to remember everything.

For those things in life, at some point, I decided to do something about it and give a respite to "my internal disorder". So I applied the GTD method.

After seeing that it really worked and my productivity began to improve exponentially, the words efficiency and organization are now a part of my day to day basis.

I started to use Laycos, which allowed me to implement the GTD method directly with my work tasks. Now let me show you how it works:

1º CAPTURE
Set your mind free

And when I say let go of your mind, I mean, don’t do or think about anything, even when "things" comes to your mind. Just go to your "Inbox" and voilà, you no longer have to "think" what you have to do because here you will see exactly the following steps.

Result: Relaxed mind.

Therefore, you only have to write your "to do things" in Laycos where you will see:

  • Notifications
  • Activities Center
  • Private Messages
  • Chat

**2º CLARIFY **
Empty your inbox

Empty your mailbox quickly and regularly. You only have to process things and organize them in their corresponding place:

  • If you do not need it, delete it
  • If it will take less than 2 minutes, do it
  • If you have an imposed date, schedule it
  • If you can, delegate
  • And if it is not one of the above options, file

3º ORGANIZE
Work organized from the very beginning

Laycos has the following functionalities to process and organize your workday:

  • Tasks
  • Tags
  • Flags

5º ENGAGE
That's all folks

At this point, you have the most important thing done.

Applying each step above, you will obtain the benefits of a high yield in productivity. Meanwhile, when the stress reduces, you will love your job.
