How this we get there?

A few months ago we attended the Digital Enterprise Show in Madrid, where one of the people in charge of the organizing company of SMART SME MENA, came to our stand and discover Laycos Network.

Months later, we received a call informing us that Laycos had been pre-selected as a technology company, to attend the 2019 edition of the SMART SME MENA as guest speaker. Before that, we had up to 2 interviews to be selected.

Ending the interview successfully, they wanted Laycos to present as European/Spanish company, showing the changes in digital transformation, through communication in companies and organizations.

What are the goals of the 2019 edition of SMART SME MENA?

The meetings are aims to promote the entrepreneurial spirit and the creation and sustainable growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Middle East and North Africa. It added that the SME sector in MENA is estimated at around $1 trillion per year.

In its Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia has set a target to increase the share of SMEs to its GDP from the current 20 percent to 35 percent while the UAE, in its Vision 2021, set a target to increase the share of SMEs to its non-oil GDP from the current 60 percent to 70 percent.

In recent years they have been working on strategies to promote the SME community and business policies favorable to competitiveness and innovation. A lot of work has been carried out within the GCC Gulf Cooperation Council, formed by the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
